Teacher Professional Development in SSIBL-Primary Education

Work Package 2 (WP2) addresses the core project activities and tasks associated with developing and implementing teacher professional development (TPD) in SSIBL in primary education (age 10-12) based on best practices available among the partners, who have existing TPD programmes at primary level for formal and informal education.

This work package team focuses on both pre- and in-service teachers.  It is led by Stockholm University (Sweden) and consists of four partners (SKUN, UJA, ENERGY, and SU).

Collectively, 251 pre- and in-service teachers have participated in the WP2 TPD activities during the first round, with the vast majority of them being pre-service teachers (pre-service teachers: 227, in-service teachers: 24).  The TPDs adopted the approach of teachers as learners, teachers as designers, and teachers as reflective practitioners.

Each of the partners is in the process of collecting evaluation data which will be evaluated and used to revise the TPD course for the 2nd round of implementation.
